Tips for ensuring your
manuscript is in its top form
and therefore, more likely to
be accepted!

The state of your manuscript
will reflect (in our eyes) the
care and attention you have
put into it.

1. 'typed' neatly, double-
spaced, one side only,
paragraphs clearly apparent,
your last name and book title
on top of every page;

2. have several people read
over your manuscript and
provide feedback/ critiques
(not your mother or similar
"fan" because you want a
critical eye;

3.  join an on-line critique
group! Yahoo groups has many
many options.
Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/
type in "writers"
—scroll through; find what
suits you!

4.  join a local or regional
writers' group. Google it!

After you have done all of this,
then . . .

5 a. find a good copy-editor to
go over your finished
manuscript before sending it
in. We want to see that you
care enough to take care of all
proofreading items;

5 b. the editor can also point
out areas in your manuscript
that need work, are
inconsistent, have grammatical
problems, etc.
